Laura Fernández Cordero
Laura is a Sociocultural Anthropologist and holds an MA degree in Fundamental Rights and Public Powers.
Member of the Foro de Vida Independiente y Divertad (FVID) since 2005
Professionally linked to the world of functional diversity since 2002, she has developed her professional activity mainly in the Fundación Síndrome de Down and other Intellectual Disabilities of the Basque Country, where he has been responsible for the Independent Living Program ETXERATU between 2004 and 2015, when she became the Technical Director of the organization.
She has participated as a speaker in different conferences and congresses since 2005.
Defender of the right of people with intellectual functional diversity to make their own decisions and of the validity of personal assistance as an emancipating tool for that group, at this moment she is dedicated exclusively to the realization of a thesis on that subject, within the PhD Program in Advanced Studies in Human Rights at the Carlos III University.
She is a Collaborator as a consultant SOLCOM since March 2018.
